While not a V8, there’s a part of me that wonders how hard it’d be to put an RX 450h/Highlander Hybrid front subframe in the back, and put the RXh/HiHy’s rear motor in the front.
308 hp mid-engine AWD Prius.
Note that the race car’s RV8K, based on the 28.70 mm restrictors, is making in the ballpark of 450 hp, though. And then the hybrid system’s adding some unknown amount on top of that - I’d guess somewhere between 60 and 140 hp for the #31 (the “fast” Prius, using a Camry Hybrid’s MG2 rated for 140 hp), and 60 hp for the #30 (the “slow” Prius, using an Aqua’s (think Prius c or Yaris Hybrid) MG2 rated for 60 hp).
