I bought the Mig-15Bis in DCS World yesterday ($25 on sale, woo!) and HOLY CRAP it’s so much fun! It’s fun to fly, it’s fun to shoot, and it’s also kind of fun to get shot down.
That’s not me landing, mine so far have always tended to involve a lot more fire.
All aboard the hype train for the F/A-18 and F-14!

I seem to recall that the earlier models of the Fagot (no, really - its NATO reporting name) were known for some dive problems and/or losing the tail. Very nimble, of course, and I think the pilots who flew the defector’s helpful free sample were very complimentary. I think a lot of the losses in Korea were attributable to a very haphazard mix of pilot experiences and a lot of combat vets with the USA forces who were Just Damn Good. I think there were losses to F7F Tigercats, Corsairs, Able Dogs... and of course most significantly the Sabres.

I got DCS A-10C and the yoke and pedal set up isn’t working. So have to hope for a flight stick instead.

Yea, the control surfaces become very unresponsive if you go too fast, especially in a dive. It turns REALLY well though if you keep it in its window.
Also I’ve found that if you drop below 200km/h on landing, you’ll fall like a rock. Which is bad because the approach speed is 220-250.

I have the A-10C too, for the modern planes you really need a HOTAS system to be able to fly them. But I do just fine on the Mig-15 and F-5 with the dainty Logitec 3D Pro.

I was looking at the thrustmaster 1600 hotas. I’m going to look at the steam sales for DCS stuff later.
