That’s subjective. Extremely subjective.

In other words, yes, extremely.

I wonder how many rallycross/Gambler beaters I could buy for the price of this repair? I’m guessing many.

This repair (plus some mods) is more than some people make in a year.

So I have an odd problem with my W202 that I’ve ignored for a while: I can’t leave the gas pump going at a Costco without it constantly clicking off. The only way I can get it to run is if I hold the pump and let it vent basically.

I’ve never had an EVAP code so I’m assuming there isn’t anything wrong with the system, so the only idea I have is to lightly blow out the vent hose.

But I was hoping maybe you’ve heard of this problem before on a W202.

My car does it too every once in a while. It’s one of two things. A combination of the system design on the car and the design of the station pump/nozzle not really meshing; or plugged/sticking canister shut off valve. Make sure the nozzle is in all the way, and you can even try flipping it upside down to see if that helps. If it only happens at one station, probably not your car’s fault.

So don’t even bother blowing at the vent tube thingy?

I’m pretty sure it only happens at a Costco pump, but I never go anywhere else so I can’t say for sure. I suppose I could go try another station and see if it does it. But I’ll also try flipping the pump upside down next time I’m at Costco.

Thanks for the help.

You can try blowing it out. Won’t hurt, as long you don’t overpressurize anything.

Nope I was going to be very light with the pressure. I hope that fixes it because I would love to be able to leave the pump without babysitting it.

I just let the pump jockeys do it (by law)
