I’d rather have the IS-F. Looks better, sounds better, is faster, is more practical, and has better resale value.

That’s the way I’m kind of leaning... but nearly 20% off of a brand new car is so tempting.

The answer is Chevy SS.

IS-F, all day without a doubt. dtg11 nailed it right on the head why.

Yes. With a Maple Leafs logo on the roof.

...On that note, a Predator-grille Lexus with a Preds logo on the roof would be perfect for you

The RC350 is like a civic compared to the IS-F. Definitely get the F. It’s near the bottom of the depreciation curve, will be FAR more fun, and is way more special. You’ll be able to find a nice RC350 whenever. But it’ll only get more difficult to find nice low mileage IS-F’s.

Do you feel like the car is worth spending around $24,000 over three years to drive?

Does a trade-in-value of $19,500 on a 3 year old $53,000 Lexus with 30,000 miles on the clock seem fair?

That’s all up to you. But I think they are getting back the $9,000 they took off when you turn the car in.

I don’t think this is close - it’s the IS-F. The RC is a shockingly heavy car— comparable to a GS, not the IS. It’s nice, but gimme da V8.

Also, I think Wobbles is right - the 43,828 purchase price is a better deal than those lease payments. They’re not equivalent.

For reference, we just leased an RX350 (MSRP $55k) for $538/month for 36 months, 15k miles/year, tax title and all, with $3k down (actually $2k + a $1k coupon I had from Lexus corporate).

Yup - the purchase is a good deal, the lease payments aren’t.

What makes the lease different on this one then a RX?

Kinja'd!!! "WilliamsSW" (williamssw)

The RX in our case is a more expensive car, with more miles/year (which makes a big difference on lease payments), yet is a lower monthly payment (the $565 is the best comparison to our situation).

Main issue here is to point out that the $44k sale price looks like a good deal - but I think the lease payments are based on a sell price around $50k, not 44k.

I see you’re interested in RWD luxury cars from Toyota with over 300HP...

I forgot where I was going with this but on a totally unrelated note haven’t the JZX90 cars just become eligible for import stateside?

I need a new car that’s somewhat reliable haha.

I think so too. I really just need to tell what I’m willing to lease that car for and if they don’t take it then walk and get an ISF.

The ISF will hold more value in 3 years if that matters, plus be more fun I think.

I’m just spit balling but I think the lease on that RC should be under 500 if they’re willing to sell it for 44. Depends on Tennessee tax law on leases too, which I’m not familiar with.

GS FTW.

IS’ transmission tunnel intrudes too much into the driver’s footwell.

RC doesn’t have enough doors.

Therefore GS (F-Sport).

The transmission tunnel issue on the IS is for the AWDs only I think. It’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen.

Hmmm, you may be right. Of course if it were RHD (JDM, yo!) then that would affect the front passenger instead of the driver.
