...than I have in my kitchen.

Kinja'd!!!

But then again, the kitchen in this home probably cost more than my entire house.

Kinja'd!!!

Nice view from the desk. I certainly wouldn’t mind working from home.

They are very nice, and, importantly, not trendy. They would have looked great 30 years ago and they’ll still look great 30 years from now.

There are some nice details on this house, but a lot of others that I didn’t care for. A little too ornate in the kitchen and bathrooms, for example, with a bit of that French provincial style. If I had $11.3M to drop on a house I would probably look for something a little more restrained and in my preferred MCM style.

But where are the bikes, the balls, the hockey net, the beer fridge?

I waver back and forth between mid century and something more traditional - would depend on the house for me - a quality design is a quality design. But French Provincial is a bit too much on the fussy side. If it was more Shaker, sure.

One of my grandfathers was a general contractor from the 1940s through the 1970s, so a lot of the work he did was in that style, and the details really hit home with me at a an early age. He would also I incorporate a lot of Asian design touches, and I love that combination.

I grew up in a seemingly modest, conventional ranch-style home in SoCal, but one that had a very clever and innovative floorplan that I loved. Only recently have I learned the name of the architect/builder. I wish I still lived in the area as I love to do some research on him and the houses he built.

In my fantasy world I’d love to build, from scratch, a house that incorporates the best features of my grandparent’s house as well as my parent’s old place. Nothing flashy, trendy or ostentatious, just high-quality with exceptional and clean design.

Garage is almost TOO clean... Where’s the oil stains and empty beer bottles?

All that money and not one two post jack. Also not enough room for a work bench in front of where the car is parked. What a waste.
