This is also a fact. When I was in the oilfield, half my screen would be the job going on, the other half would be for car shopping.

I’ve always liked the look of the E36 M3 - especially in coupe form.
I’m off until Jan 2, and plan to do a little bit of semi-unnecessary car shopping during that time myself. Current lease is up at the end of May, so if I end up ordering a car, I need to decide by the end of February - so this is a good time to do it, really.
Already test drove a Giulia yesterday - non-QF though.

The E36 M3 was my favorite car when I was in high school, 2004-2008. The E46 M3 seemed unobtainable. The E90 was what I drooled over in college, but the E46 M3 seemed to be the car that I would buy upon graduation.
I’ve got to work on the 28th, other than that im off. I’m going to do some unnecessary car shopping myself. Going to carmax today to drive a 2013 S5.
I wanted to drive a Giulia, but the dealer here only has two and they were both inside. Might have to go look at one when I’m in Roswell.

I’m looking over my local Carmax inventory to figure out a plan for this afternoon myself.
The Giulia I drove was a sport, with AWD (they’re all AWD up here). I liked the feel of it, but the interior materials were lacking. Even in sport mode, the trans was upshifting pretty quickly I thought - but I didn’t shift it manually. But it was quick once you got into the boost (albeit noisy when you were not).
The Lusso is nicer, but I couldn’t see living with the interior materials in the Sport.

You ever go look at that green E46 M3?
That’s basically what I did, got on their website and was like, hmm anything cool. Then I saw the Audi and was like we’ve got a winner.
I sat in one, but didn’t really pay attention to the materials. Next time I look at them, I’ll pay attention.

No - I don’t want to waste the time with a private seller, when I’m not serious about that specific car.
Seems like Carmax has shipped a lot of the interesting cars south for the winter - selection is pretty weak up here. Hillside and Tinley Park each have an SS, and Tinley/Schaumburg have a Golf R. Schaumburg has a FoRS and a FoST. That’s about it.
I’m going to Hillside to test drive the SS this afternoon, and will probably drive up to Schaumburg one day next week if the FoRS is still there.
The closest M3/M4s are in Tennessee...
