No longer sold here either as their Campro motor is not emissions compliant

A blistering 60hp? Something about the looks makes me think it would be more fitting as 2-cycle: Vrrrinnnng..Vrrrinnnnng!

I can’t even remember when Proton left the U.K.

How dare you, not 60hp, it’s 60.6hp.

That’s an 0.6hp of awesomeness.

Ahh Proton. When i was a teenager my family had some business dealings in KL so we ended up travelling a bit there. Those Protons are really quite flimsy and nasty, but the government was hell-bent on having their own industry and they slap very stiff tariffs on imports (so steep that Mercedes and BMW would send CKDs of their last gen cars to assemble there). It is a great example of how a government tried to create an industry of their own and failed.

Awesomeness indeed: I would drive the hell out of that. Having daily-ed EA81 Subarus for some years I was going to say I prob knew what the driving experience was like, but Google claims those had a >scorching< 73hp, so maybe not. Do like the look: the upper silhouette is what the Brat would have looked like if allowed another generation

It’s got a nice neutral, classy and timeless look to it.

I saw one of these this morning! A yellow one. Can probably sneak in a pic later ;)

So weird to think the car the Evo was based on also produced a ute. And I do believe people have made Evo utes

Haha, love the idea of keeping it bone stock, and swapping on a CC front end. Not sure who would do it. But it’s cool
