I mean, ultimately a dude got buried, embalmed, and rose from the dead after 3 days, so Halloween decorations ought to cross over to Easter pretty well. And maybe Christmas.
One of the best sermon/podcasts I ever heard was called “Silent Night” and was all about how miserable and frenetic that night was. Screaming, freezing, placenta on the ground, animal crap everywhere.
And don’t forget that later, when the wise men came to bring gifts, King Herod got word of it and sent his minions out to kill every child in the kingdom just in case.
That’s some dark, dark shit that not a lot of people like to talk about. But it’s accurate and relevant to remember when we’re out wasting money at the mall.
