Holy! they are good. Talk about bang for your buck. I’ve had Blizzaks, I have Cooper Weather Masters on my Galant. And the Generals on my wife’s car as just as good has the Blizzaks at 2/3 the price, and leaps and bounds better than the Coppers, even tho they were only about 10 bucks more.

For reference on our car (tire size 185/60/15) the Blizzaks are 90 dollars per tire on Tirerack. I bought the Generals at Walmart and paid 67 per tire, they are 62 dollars on Tirerack.

I haven’t had a chance to use them in anything more than 4-5” of snow but they’ve proven their worth in those conditions. They also grip like a mountain goat on ice. I actually enjoy driving the Fit in snow now. I can accelerate through a turn on snow! Something I couldn’t say when it was onthe OEM suggested Cooper CS3s which are absolutely a 3 season tire and we won’t be buying them again.

Please post back when you’re on dry pavement. It’s finally about to snow here in Colorado Springs so I’m going to have to bite the bullet and buy some snow tires. I’d rather not pay a crap ton for Blizzaks since we don’t keep snow on the ground here regularly.

I haven’t driven it much on dry pavement but my wife has had some highway miles on them, and I haven’t heard any complaints from her.

I’m also not sure if they last as long as Blizzaks but we’ll just have to wait and see. We don’t drive much maybe 12,000 miles a year so I’m sure they’ll last at least 3 years for us. That would come to about $110 a year. Totally worth it.

Ever had experience with Winterforce? Those have been my go-to, but the Arctics are a bit cheaper.

I have not. Only Blizzaks, Michelin ice-Xs, the Generals, and the Coopers.

The Michelins are the best I’ve experienced, but they are cheap either, on the Fit they would have been 100 bucks about 10 dollars more than the Blizzaks.

I have these on dry pavment. much like any other winter tire, mushy. they are a little louder when it comes to impacts such as pot holes, but nothing major.

I just finished raising my ride height so the shop can put the General Altimax Arctics on tomorrow! Talk about a timely review. You’ve got me excited

That’s good to hear! I put those on my truck a month ago, but we haven’t had any snow or ice to test them on.

I’ve got them too, so far I’ve only had dry pavement for them. They’re fine for me. They whistle a bit at low speed.

I had Blizzak WS80s on my S40 just a couple miles north of you. They deal with our schizophrenic weather quite well. They better for that price lol

I have winterforce on my truck and they do quite well in the snow and ice.

The psychotic weather is why I’ve been delaying... drove to the Outlet Mall today where it was snowing but the Springs had nothing...

I guess I’ll pull the trigger. Thanks.

I had them on my Focus ST. Great tire for such a good price!

I agree, Michelins get my vote for best non-super expensive non-studded winter tire. If I go high end, I’m getting some Nokians next time.

I have been toying around with the idea of getting some snow tires for my car this year. We hardly ever see any real snow but I I figured since I’ve already got an extra set of wheels for my car just taking up space in the garage it couldn’t hurt to have a set ready to go in case it does hit the fan around here.

So I went and looked those Generals up on Discount tire just for grins and about fell out of my chair...

Kinja'd!!!

Oh only $999 each! But at least there’s free shipping... I think they’ve got a pricing algorithm running amok on their website right now or something.

Definitely keeping an eye on this. I have another year or two on my 2012 Continentals, got some General no-seasons and were pretty impressed by them for the price I paid.
