Update: RallySportDirect.com had a 15% off sale so I bit the bullet. Order has already shipped and should be here next week.

Titanium exhaust for the Mustang, it’s only 13.2lbs which is like ~45 light than stock. Biggest risk is being the biggest ricer.

How much is it? I’d say the biggest risk is paying a ton of money and getting sick of it in a few months.

$1000 so not the biggest deal. Sound has been the issue since I got the car.

A racer (not ricer) may not care since the weight savings is quite substantial. Some of the worst looking worst sounding exhaust systems I’ve ever seen came on club racer type cars.

Imo, a single exit will just look really odd. That’s the only downside I can see.

Does it go from dual to single exhaust?

The car should be on the track a decent amount next season so I’m thinking this is the way to go. I also want the track suspension setup that will probably turn my daily into a nightmare but hey, #racecar.

It’s a 4-cyl so the stock goes from single to double. This would just be a single all the way through which makes sense.

It’s only a single exit? That would bother me aesthetically more than anything else.

I’d be happy with stainless... save our limited titanium for some more F22 wingboxes...

I like it. Save weight wherever you can. 45 pounds is a decent chunk, and very impressive for just an exhaust.

The stock exhaust cuts out any hint of noise and is a huge dual muffler set-up. I might go for it, it’d only be an hour or two for install.

4 year in the Air Force and I never saw a single F-22. Still my favorite of the “wingboxes”.

Yep, I say do it. 100%. All that unnecessary tubing in the stock system just because someone decided modern cars need twin exhausts. Think of it as a flaw that you’re fixing to bring your stang to the level that it deserves to be. Plus... Come on. A muscle car should be heard.

I also went from stock, to a very lightweight racing exhaust. Bumped up looks, sound and performance. Literally no downside, other than the cost, which was forgotten a day after entering my debit card info. I get to hear that glorious exhaust all the time.

I went with the Gibson Exhaust on my Ecoboost. It too drops some serious weight, though not as much as the single does. It maintains a dual exit in the back, while getting things down to a single muffler in place of the stock resonator. It only took an hour on a lift to remove/replace.

Tomei make similar systems for WRX and STI they are about as loud of a catback as you can get.

Could you just cut the black part away from the lower section? Add more lightness and remove any semblance of exhaust cutouts.

that’s fair. Most forums are a total shitshow, but... for detailed information about your car there are few better sources. I will say that we’re a friendly group, there’s no one there telling you that you should have bought a GT, and everyone is genuinely interested when people make mods we haven’t seen before. Most of the Ecoboost only forums have died a slow death, except this one, and the S550 Mustang forums are full of people putting down the ecoboost. Of course there are the Facebook groups, but they’re as bad as the S550 forums for shouting down people they disagree with.

They’re not *terrible* as catbacks, but if you add a downpipe they’ll make ears bleed.
