Here’s the thing. Saying “Hey Siri” into your phone sounds like you’re hooking back up with that really cool girl you dated in college. Saying “Okay Google” out loud makes you sound like a guy that couldn’t even get a date with Siri’s ugly girlfriend.

How’s the phone? I would have gotten my mom that phone had I not worked some magic and gotten her a Pixel XL for $80. I think at 400-500 the Essential is a great phone to get.

Except Cortana only listens when the app is open, or when you tap the voice icon. MS hasn’t brought back the always on feature.

Home screen on my S7E with Nova Launcher. The search bar can also go below the dock like official Pixel layout but I like it like this. Yes I have a shit ton of folders.

Make me a phone the size and hardware of the iphone SE with stock android and I’m in.

I’ve gotten so used to the OG Pixel Launcher through the various phones and tabs I’ve had. Can’t stand touchwiz. Nova launcher looks neat tho (I have one row of folders myself).

On some devices holding down the home button can launch Google assistant as well!

Nova is basically very similar to Google’s launchers except with more customization options. The only things about it are you need to sideload Nova Google Companion if you want to swipe from the left to bring up Google Now like on the Google launchers, and certain Oreo features like notification badges and other stuff that I don’t really use only come as part of the paid version.

Yeah, actually the ph-1 feels like the Iphone 4S but way larger (glass back)
I have very large hands, so I can’t really comfortably handle a phone smaller than an Iphone 6s and even then it feels like a toy phone, what after having the one plus 1, the Nexus 6p... I just got used to it;
Now I need to get used to this one since it has no vessel really...

Yeah. When I got my One+ 5, I was super excited to continue using Cortana as it works better than the other voice-assistant bots. But MS pulled the plug on the always on Hey Cortana command on Android. So you have to open the app and tap the mic icon. It also can’t set a timer even though I use the stock app for that. Super lame and not helpful.
