Silly, whenever someone asks what time it is, it’s clearly beer (or whisk(e)y time.

Kinja'd!!!

Choices, lager, lager (more an ale flavour), ale (as refreshing as a lager) or stout.

Kinja'd!!!

or do I do whisk(e)y? Scotch (triple distilled), Irish (easy drinking) or Irish (not so easy drinking, blended).

Kinja'd!!!

I’m going with a stout and an Irish whiskey shot (or three).

Kinja'd!!!

I worked for an Aussie outfit in NYC run by a Scott and Brit... 4 PM on Thursday my Aussie boss had an alert on his desk go, “Beer o’Clock” at which time he would walk to the fridge and bring all 9 of us beers on the cart with a red and white wine as well.

That was the upside of that job.

Estrella Damm? Eww. If you want good Spanish beer get yourself any of the 1906 Reserva Especial from Estrella Galicia. Personal favorite is the Red Vintage.

A Scot is a Brit too. Lol.

It’s something we share closer with our antipodean cousins than our North American ones, the beer o’clock.

Yes, it is. I just had a nice local IPA (Coop F5) and am now into a Maker’s & Coke. All here at work. =)

I’m not the most Christmasy person you’ll meet. But if you’re going to give me a chocolaty porter or something, sign me up.

I only found it in the last few months.

It’s surprisingly drinkable, very easy drinking.

Certainly way better than San Miguel (which is nice when your sunning it up in the Canary Islands, tastes very different when your in a different location.

Yes, Spanish beer is very much regional, but I really enjoy the 1906s every time I visit my family over there. I can’t get it here in Mexico though...

How’s that Guinness extra stout? I can only get the draught here!

The Guinness West Indies Porter is a very chocolatey.

Turns out I don’t like chocolatey as much as I thought (that and the Rye Pale Ale, way too citrusy).

Lol. I bet it couldn’t understand a Macka (Cumbria), Yamyam (outside Birmingham), Scouser (Liverpool), Sand Dancer (South Shields (North East England), Geordie (again north east region), Manc (Manchester), etc... (English dialects).

Cumbrian (where I am, or rather where I is).

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

Yam Yam (more outside Birmingham but generally accepted as the Black Country accent (West Midlands)).

The Brit was Manchester, IIRC. He talked like a prick to everyone, but he was funny when you weren’t the target. The Scot was indecipherable. Especially over the phone. I’m sure the accents you highlighted are similar, I’m not going to pretend to know them all. Being from a Great Lake State I was blessed with being able to hear the differences in the harder to discern Northern Midwest accent over here. To people outside of that accent it all sounds the same.

Oh well.

I reference him as a Scott and not a Brit because the Irish and Brits in the company were sure to remind him that he was a Scot and therefore impossible to understand.

The Guinness Extra is very nice. Fruity but like Spanish beers, best served slightly chilled in a warm country.

They’ve brought out some interesting beers under the ‘Guinness Project’ label.

Ye’, I’ve met a few Manc pricks in my time.

I’m trying to remember a saying one of them would say over and over again to the point I either wanted to hit him or tape him and turn it into a drinking game.

Oh, that’s it. When ever something was good, he would say, ‘happy days’.

‘right we can go home early’, ‘happy days’,

‘I’ll get the first round in’, ‘happy days’,

etc...

It was nice, drinkable but would say it’s about mid way on what Guinness’ I prefer.

Nicer than many porters I’ve had.

I wouldn’t turn it down but I also wouldn’t go out looking for it.

Give it a go, nothing ventured, nothing gained.

It’s really good.

For when that doule whiskey isn’t enough and you want something to sit and drink with but Guinness alone won’t touch.
