FUCK all these fucking useless fucking assholes on fucking forums. These fucks are incapable of giving any semblance of useful information if their fucking lives depended on it. Every fucking time I go to one of these forum’s I want to punch a fucking puppy because fucks are can’t even manage to give a complete or consistent answer on the simplest fucking question. I checked countless threads trying to figure out why the fuck there’s two fucking computer on a MT Accord, yet none of these stupid fucks know what the difference between the two fucking computers are and interchange the names so you have no idea what the fuck they’re even trying to say.

Fuck all these idiots.

That’s why I’m logged into the smart car of america forum around the clock. Quick and knowledgeable answers!

That’s the thing that frustrates me. I know how good forums can be because one’s for the Civic are amazing. But completely useless for the Accord idk why.

Different demographics, I suppose. Even on the smart forum you’ll get like 10 good answers in less than 24 hours...but like the Kia forum is a hit and miss. *shrug*

I especially like the “don’t start a new thread, look for an older one for your topic!!!” guys. Holy shit batman, you probably discussed similar symptoms back in 2008, but instead of giving me a short answer or providing a link you accuse me of spamming the place. Way to get more members!

ECU module. SRS module. ABS module. And there’s usually a couple others (cruise control, body/accessory control) thrown in for good measure.

are they any reason you couldnt use the same voltage values from a similar year/generation civic? something with the same style block, head, distributor? engineers are lazy guys, and dont like to do extra work. the voltage numbers for a civic are probably very nearly the same.....

I’m trying to figure out what pins on the ECU do what and what values they should have. The Civic and Accord use completely different engines, so I don’t think the ECUs are the same.

I think I’ve figure out which computer is the ECU based off a diagram I found (from an aftermarket company, not a forum of course.) However, it appears to be completely missing a connector. Racing Bob posted a trouble shooting guide and the first step was to remove that connector and check for continuity across a wire. Well it failed that test, but I still need to figure out why it’s missing that connector, the wiring harness going to the ECU doesn’t have any extra wire and doesn’t look like any one cut a bunch out, so I’m kind of stumped on that.

Wait wait wait...Honda forum?

Yeah, those have been the worst since the internet was invented. I mean, others have caught up just fine, but you can count on Honda being at the forefront.

Which is unfortuate because there are some insanely knowledgeable people (eg Hondatech forums) who seem like they’ve just given up trying to help after explaining how useless a cold air intake is three times a day for 20 years.

here’s a picture of the ECU. There should be a 16 pin connector to the right of the blue one, but it’s not there and there’s no dangling wires or anything on the harness side either.

Hey! I’m an engineer, and mildly taunted. But too lazy to elaborate an answer why you are wrong

Yep, there’s really excellent stuff for Civics on Hondatech. For the Accord it’s just been a waste of time.

Yours looks like this:

From what I can tell, the far RH connector (LH in these images) is only used on the V6 car.

Yep, and it’s missing one of four connectors that goes to the ECU! And there’s no extra dangling wires or anything, it’s just missing a 16pin connector, NBD!

This is why I love Oppo. I go on a long rant and mention on problem and someone actually has an answer without me actually asking!

Although now I’m going to have to find a new trouble shooting guide, because I guess the one Racing Bob posted was for a V6.

heh, WELL, that is to say.........um....... engineers are great folks, and once they find a solution, or something that works, they dont like to mess with it unless they NEED to. simplest solution, and all that......

The key to engineering is finding the balance between reusing stuff that works to keep costs and work down, and putting in new stuff to justify your employment :D

Also read AMGTech’s comment. It’s getting 3.5V from the red wire from C26 instead of 5V from the green wire from C18, that it should be getting.
