I am actually very happy with my job, but I’m trying to go on vacation for the rest of the year at the end of the day today, and the fact that I have at least two, maybe three days of work I’d like to get out of the way meant that I found myself with a migraine last night.
Fortunately that pressure comes and goes, but when it is here I contemplate going to trade school for auto repair. Then I come to my senses and go back to work, after relaxing for a moment with Oppo.

I’m one of two PMs at an installation with 38 active projects. If I leave, they’ll need to scramble to find someone familiar with the customer and that knows the contract vehicle. I’ve also got a project on another installation that is ongoing for 2 years and is almost done, and replacing me on it with someone new would be a painful process.
All I really want them to do is keep my regional operations director from talking to me like, ever. Every time he communicates with me I have extra shit to do.

Life’s too short to spend it in a job that makes you miserable. I’ve had those, and they make your entire life (even outside work) hell. Get out.
There are plenty of days I don’t like something my job, or get frustrated and bitch. But as long as I can go home each day and honestly say “I don’t hate my job”, I call it a win.

I know that feeling all too well. All I can feel about my job is an immense amount of apathy— I just don’t care about any of what I do. I still get my work done, but I’ve been half-assing it for the past year or two because I know that in the end it doesn’t really matter and that the pay is going to suck either way. I’m salaried with pretty mediocre raises so I have zero incentives to try hard, and since my company has a “flat hierarchy” with no real positions, there’s no real opportunity for advancement. It’s just a whole lot of faux-polite corporate BS and coddling our needy clients as they barrage me with one stupid task after another.
It’s legitimately starting to ruin my life at this point— Sundays are completely ruined for me because I’m just dreading Monday from the minute I wake up on Sunday morning. I’m always hoping my car breaks down or I get into some kind of (minor) accident so that I can miss out on some work. Lunch breaks are the only part of my workday I look forward to, and I always make sure to take as much time as possible so I can delay going back to work. I’ll intentionally drive 20 miles each way to a food place because I honestly feel better when I’m on the road and can hear the growl of my car’s V8.
Next week I’m off for an entire week for the holidays (I had to use PTO for that because we don’t get any extra days off aside from the holidays themselves) and I’m honestly really excited to just not be at work. I have all these personal projects and ambitions but after work I’m just so cooked mentally that I don’t feel like doing anything at all.
Anyways, that’s my rant.

I hear that too my last day was supposed to be today and I start selling vee dubs Tuesday but I just couldn’t take another day i told my boss yesterday that it would be my last day.
