some low life fucking cretin stole my Honda last night. Guess this is how karma fucking rewards me for helping a stranded motorist or some shit. Fuck.
Police report filed, facebook groups spammed with VIN and tag and pictures. Tomorrow I go around to all the mom and pop bike shops and leave my name and number. Fucking gay as shit. I didn’t have comprehensive because I can barely afford fucking food thanks to rebuilding the stupid V8 in my stupid car and comprehensive more than doubled the cost of my insurance. Hopefully they don’t come back because the door locks on the Jag are broken. Goddammit. time to drink.

Two years ago, my BIL had this pretty nice bike (I’m not a bike guy, so I can’t tell you the model, but it was nice!). He lived in a detached condo community and parked it amongst the other cars after a long day at work. His wife stopped him before bed and asked if he didn’t want to move it to the backyard like usual. He said, nah it’ll be fine. Woke up the next day, it was gone. The one night he wasn’t paranoid and he got burned.

I can believe it. I’d never leave one out overnight, or even out of sight in an unsecured area for much time. I remember several years ago there was a score of thefts from secured condo buildings in Seattle/West Seattle. Even in Bellevue, I’d lock one up in a few ways and block in with the car.

That stings too since older generic bikes in a less than perfect shape are pretty thief resistant. Everyone seems to go for liter class sport bikes. Dual sports and basic runabouts are always passed up.

Well, hopefully it won’t be too bad. I’ll share some of my luck with you. We had one of our trucks stolen earlier this year, and when they recovered it it was mostly intact except for 2 broken windows and the steering column had to be replaced. No other damage though. I don’t even think the damage exceeded $750. I still can’t believe it.

My Ninja ZX-6R was stolen in August from my underground garage which was a major kick to the balls. Never saw that bike again. However my friend’s R6 also went missing but turned up in an alleyway by his house.
I’m still bitter about the loss but learned that I have to invest in a good lock. If you put me in front of the guy that did it I wouldn’t hold back.

You seem smart enough to understand that what words and language flies in your circle might not in the world at large. It’s not about who is or isn’t offended. It’s about acknowledging the reality that we live in a country where a state came damn close to electing someone who things homosexuality should be a crime. Look, the dude’s just had his motorcycle stolen, and he’s probably been drinking. At least Captain of the Beige Wonder stated that he understood he was upset.
I agree that using gay in a negative way isn’t right, but the way you call it out is pretty much calling him a shitty person when he’s just been the victim of a motorcycle theft and is venting (i.e. kicking him when he’s down).
The way you said it won’t lead to a simple and agreeable resolution for all - next time a different way of phrasing and approaching the issue at hand might be better.
I hope you understand that I certainly disagree with using the term gay negatively, but I also understand why he has the irate feelings he has. Sure, he might’ve tipped over the line, but context is important.
