The Silver Shadow II is pretty much the cheapest, least cool Roller you can get. This one in particular was in less than perfect shape. And guess what? It’s still awesome. An uncool Rolls is still a cool car, and this one is the dude’s year round daily driver, which is major Jalop points.

The Silver Spirit has always been my least favourite Roller. At the least the Ghost sort of looks like a classic car. This thing just looks lost in time. Plus I see them all the time being driven by people in clearly fake brand suits. Then again a Made in China Armani suit does go well with £5,000 Rolls Royce I guess.

Funny you should say that. I’m one of a few moderators of the Nebraska car spotters Facebook page. I posted this picture there, one of my friends who is one of the other moderators replied that if I was a car, I would be this car. He’s not wrong.

These are always the ones used when a low budget movie or TV show calls for some jerk and/or villain’s Rolls-Royce be destroyed. Sometimes, it will start off as a Silver Seraph and magically change to a Silver Shadow II just when the action happens.
Still a proper Rolls-Royce though. 6 3/4 L V8, beautiful wood and leather interior, thick wool carpets, optical grade windshield, etc. It was just Rolls-Royce brought into the post-coachbuilder 1960s.

It was the hottest Rolls for my favourite decade of cars after all.
The ones with euro lights have a lot of presence even today.
The interior was, simply put, rad.
And it was related to this beast, the Bentley Turbo R.

I actually think the Shadows are the last elegant looking Rolls but begins crossing the line from opulent to tacky. I think the Bentley T-Series grill is better.
The Shadow I has a problem with dieseling. I saw one with two smog pumps. First one for normal emissions regulations, second one to stall the car when you turn it off. I don’t remember if this was factory or not.
