Kinja'd!!!

Motor Trend released images of the refreshed ‘19 Cherokee before its debut next week at the NAIAS. It no longer looks like an American Juke and gets the face that it should have had since the beginning. Oh and it got a new rear too.

Kinja'd!!!

No word yet on any changes spec wise. But head on over to MT to check out more images.

I hate that design where the license plate is on the rear bumper; I’m glad the Cherokee ditched it.

I really like it. It always bugged me that the Cherokee and Grand Cherokee looked little alike lol

I think it looks way better now. I dont know what they were thinking with the original fascia.

I liked it better, it just needed to have a spare tire there to fill up the blank space.

Finally? It’s only 3 years old. I guess it’s good they’re not going to PT Cruiser it though.

Jeep has becomed satire of itself. But I guess that happens when your brand is bigger than you are, or bigger than you’ll ever be...

I agree. The Wrangler doesn’t help things and its the go to bro mobile now. Sort of what the old Hummer H2 was back in the ‘00s.

I think that what has happened lately is that marketing people have tried to read The Sound And The Fury, but didn’t realize that greatly exaggerated values are a sign of decadence and not ascension.

I thought the rumor was that it was supposed to be a Fiat model and halfway through they switched it to the new Cherokee. Supposedly the conversion to a “trail rated” Jeep is why it’s so heavy.

Still though, it seems like a different front fascia is an easy fix...

Or even lower on the hatch, like the new CR-V, the Tucson/Sportage, etc. That just looks tacky to me.

Not really. The new Wrangler has been widely praised as being bigly better than the old version in all aspects. Except for pricing, of course.

The new Compass is also light years ahead of the old one. The biggest problem that I see is lack of diversity - They’re taking the Audi playbook, where everything they sell looks the same, some are just bigger than the others. The Wrangler being the main outlier.

I meant as a brand, It is banking on its brand heavily! Sure, their products seem to have evaded the FCA quality sickness and actually improven, but it doesn’t mean that they relay heavily on branding.

Much better.

Still shouldn’t be called the cherokee, but at least it doesn’t burn my eyes now.
