Its cars. Its all cars.

Kinja'd!!!

‘The Shop’ as its know, is basically for people to work on and store their cars . I was very impressed with the number and variety (because lots of different owners) that were on display there. Also the food was good. The front of the house is basically just a restaurant open to everyone, with windows that look out on to the collection. So if you’re from Seattle, i highly recommend grabbing a meal there. Its worth the sight alone.

On to the pictures

Here’s what I saw when i walked in there.

Kinja'd!!!

Pretty sure i’ve never seen a 500E before. Those fender flares... man.

Also new for me in person is the Jarama, which i knew how to pronounce thanks to Doug Demuro.

I’ll always have a soft spot in my heart for the Z8. I just love them for some reason.

This Chrysler is possibly the most oppo car ever. Whats going on with that passenger seat?

Kinja'd!!!

Oh. Its for your secretary. I’m pretty sure you’d get real carsick real soon typing on that thing.

At what comes out to like $350/month for storage, I hope the borrowed tools are nice, that’s pretty dear (I pay a third of that for a secure spot in Bellevue). I suspect the amount of owners who wrench isn’t a vast majority.

With all of the techbro money and laundered money real estate types in the city now, I am sure there’s enough demand to make it work.

The restaurant is one of Ethan Stowell’s operations - so it should be pretty good. I haven’t made it down there yet...

Why is the secretary desk facing that way? Couldn’t you just fold the passenger seat out of the way and work from the back?

I suppose it’s meant to have one person in the desk and keep two or more people in the back, but...that’s so odd. That might be the most fascinating car related thing I’ve seen in a while and I feel like I need to know more.

The Mobile Director option was offered for 1967 and 1968 for the Imperial Crown Coupe only (it is not a Chrysler, Imperial was the marque from 1956-1975).

It’s a particularly rare and expensive option (10% of the base price in 1967), since it was somewhat of an answer to a question nobody asked.

Supposedly the executive would sit in the back, a secretary would sit in the front using a dictaphone or writing notes, and a chauffeur would drive, but nobody really bought a 2-door to be chauffeured around in.

Also, nice XJC and Type 3 notch - those weren’t distributed in North America when new.

Wow wish I lived near there. Those are some cool cars. Wonder if there’s anything like that in Dallas area.
