Cars are meant to be driven! Also, any 80s/90s cars in the snow instantly give me nostalgia to driving around in high school with friends. Those brutally cold winter days in cars that worked questionably at best but were soooo cool anyways, were the best! Something about the quiet calm that snow brings and how nobody really goes outside in the winter unless they have to always made it my favorite season to cruise in.

I see that on PETA billboards around Chicago and it irritates the hell out of me - think that’s true if your dog is a Husky or a Labrador? Lol nope.

But yeah bring the Porch inside

Winter and snow can be fun. But the fun ends when someone brings the salt. My example is not from Finland as here we have a yearly inspection so even quite mild rust can be a death sentence for cars.

And what am I planning do today? I’m going to weld my ‘80 Opel because some has used it during the winter and certain places are horrible (but not yet fatal).

I mean I think this sentiment is silly too. If you live in a place that salts roads, your car WILL rust. That is an inevitable part of living there. No way would I put my car away for 3-5 months out of the year for any reason. I would rather not own the car at that point. The best I can do is religiously wash the car and ideally own something not particularly prone to rusting. Some cars definitely rust more than others. My ‘99 Honda civic never got washed for about 5 years of winters and it did not see a spec of rust. The Miata though saw at least weekly washes in the winter but is certainly a rustbucket. But a better solution for me was just moving somewhere that doesnt have winter =)

I just never dreamed of owning anything nice in the Northeast, it seemed like a waste of money since it would eventually rust away. My fantasy cars are MUCH better here in Socal, I can actually aspire to some day own nice stuff that will stay nice!

I am also done with “winter”, it has been like 80+ degrees, super windy, and everything is on fire. I would like some 60 degree temperatures please. Using the air conditioning in December is so weird to me!
