well the 6 pack of incandescent were something like $1.50.... so still more expensive, but i’ll probably make that up in the first week of use.

This is why I don’t care for the current styles in chandeliers. I mean, I appreciate the attempt at doing something different and modern, but all these do is blind you (so they don’t do one primary task of a decorative light fixture) and cast large shadows. There are traditional styles that I oppose for the same reason (I had an awful pseudo-traditional chandelier in my last condo that cast a huge shadow due to the design.).
As odd as it might be, one unique selling point of the very home I own now was the fact that the previous owners had used light fixtures that were not objectionable - the dining areas have large hanging fixtures with vertical fabric shades and frosted glass on the bottom, casting a very even light with no shadows; the very high entranceway has an inverted cloche chandelier (the most objectionable one in the house); and the bedrooms have basic domes & cans (lots of cans and pendants elsewhere in the house, too).
If you’re going to go with the faux Edison bulbs in the modern faux industrial style, I feel like you should go all in on it because even trying to pay homage to the past with the concept of a chandelier feels contrived.
After a little internet searching, I really like these because they throw conventions out entirely, won’t throw weird shadows on your food/room, and showcase the bulbs themselves while being practical:

LED bulbs are not even a question anymore. You just buy them in the base, temp, and lumens you need, because everything else is inferior and they pay for themselves in energy efficiency. I gave away over 50 random incandescent and CFL bulbs when I replaced every bulb in my house with an LED after we moved in... Each bulb was somewhere in the $1-2 range, depending on size/shape/dimming/lumens. Outfitting the entire house with some spares left over was like $80-100. Considering the ridiculous number of lights in here, they’ll pay for themselves in no time.

You don’t have to convince me. I was a fairly early adopter. It cost me a few hundred to do my whole house, because the bulbs were more expensive at the time. I don’t own any fixtures that use Edison style bulbs, but at the time I did my house, like 4-5 years ago, they didn’t make LED versions of them (or at least they weren’t widely available, because I never saw them). That’s why I asked. We’re going to be redoing our kitchen soon, and I’m sure my wife will want some trendy pendants that have Edison bulbs, so it’s good to hear I can get them in LED.

I didn’t buy a house until about 2 months ago and I never bothered to replace them in a place I didn’t own (plus I was rarely in most of these places or they were actively exotic options). I always said I’d do it when it was finally my place...
