It’s on Netflix (both Canada/US, check for yourself in other countries ) and it’s absolutely fucking ridiculous - on the Pirelli scale of violence, it’s hyper-violent.
The sidekicks are very cookie cutter but there’s a weird satisfaction I get with this series that I found when I was young and started playing games like Doom and Duke Nukem. You just want to see guns, explosions, and a bit of innuendo to give the illusion of variety before the next act of hyper-violence .
So, very childish, despite it being not suitable for children at all. I give it a solid 59 bananas out of a possible 99: it straddles the line between D and F very well, but gives you just enough that it’s passable.

It’s pretty good if you liked AoD. Ash is still Ash. Part awesome and part dumbshit.

Also try Dana Gould’s Stan Against Evil ... similar sort of thing, and mixes horror and comedy very well.

Love that show. It’s 10% grosser than I’d appreciate, but the humor makes up for it.

Yeah, despite a pretty wide tolerance for these kinds of things the gore is just over the top at times.

Yeah I don’t blame you, I was on the fence about continuing with it. I kept it on in the background while doing other things so I didn’t feel like I was investing time into it that I would later regret.

I don’t have TV so unless Netflix airs it weekly, I’ll be waiting a while.

Watched 2 last night
I was expecting more of an army of darkness Vibe. its way more evil dead, but I guess that should be expected since it is in the title of the show.
I’m gonna watch more tonight after the kids and the wife go to bed.
I just have to keep the remote in my hand, I have lower the sound every time there is action. And raise when they are talking. Not to wake everyone with all the screaming and gun shots.

I’m not sure if I’ve ever seen Evil Dead... I feel like I would have but I may as well have never seen it based on what I remember.
Army of Darkness was something I enjoyed, too. I just finished the first season yesterday - I’ll bite my tongue since I don’t want to inadvertently spoil anything for you.
Still, it’s good to see boomstick and the chainsaw back, even if it is a bit over the top.

Evil dead is pure horror movie, those scenes in ash vs evil dead when he cuts off his hand is from evil dead. Army of darkness to me is a comedy, with some horror.
