So despite the season kinda sizzling out for the Hokies, we still landed a solid bowl game. The Camping World Bowl (questionable name) in Orlando vs. Oklahoma State. My brother was able to secure free tickets with parking through his company, so it was a no brainer for me to make the trek. And you know what that means?

The Inflatable (electric) Wonder!!! On what I thought was my last trip of the season I spent 45 minutes riding alongside what seemed like 30 dolphins.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

Couldn’t have asked for a better last trip, but with the weather looking like 80s and sunny for the trip I’d be an idiot not to throw the raft in the trunk of the TL for a nice New Years cruise.

My car is going to leave Virginia looking like this and arrive in Florida only to have a boat pop out of the back. Inflatable stuff is cool and this little dinghy is the best money I’ve ever spent. Also, I want to get 48v and ~50ah worth of Tesla cells to power it since it would be about A tenth of the size and weight of the current SLA setup.

What does the total package weigh? Super cool setup.

Thank you!

- boat: 68-75lbs depending on the source

- batteries: 52lbs but could be WAY lighter if I went lithium (would be 15lbs total). Just need to spend an extra hundred or two.

- motor: 20lbs

So about 140lbs. When I finally upgrade the batteries it’ll be sitting at around 100lbs flat which would be amazingly manageable, although it already is.

Two people is all you need to deploy it effortlessly and I’ve done it alone on a couple occasions and the only hard part is just getting the boat up onto your head and shoulders. (Also when deploying alone you have to take the boat batteries and motor separately, but with a partner you just slap it together and carry each end)

Cool. Used to be a canoe/ kayak guy so I know the feels of hoisting them overhead. A pain but always worth it in the end! Going to share this with my father he’s selling his bass boat and I’m sure he’d like something like this to zip around all the protected water ways that don’t allow gas in his area. Be safe out there!

I had a kayak and a square stern canoe with a small trolling motor and i really wanted something that could go on protected lakes and creeks around me but still be capable of crossing larger lakes and handling wake. I ended up being able to go way further with it than I expected and the videos were taken cruising along the mouth of the Chesapeake where I wouldn’t dare take the canoe with a weak trolling motor. I kept the kayak to get my paddling in though.

Happy boating and be safe to you all as well!
