To call this left field would be an understatement. I have seen Deuces around on the net and always had a strange attraction to them. Rugged, semi truck like and when I looked into the rules completely legal to drive on a regular drivers license.

Fast forward to a Cars and Coffee a while back, where I saw one depart when I was posted on another corner far away from the exit he left at. Someone commented I missed the Deuce. I replied I saw it leave, but missed it due to being at another exit. I also mentioned I loved Deuces and would have filmed it 100%. The person who commented happened to be the owner, and as things seem to go among car (and truck) enthusiasts we got to talking and eventually he offered his time and his Deuce up for a review.

Grind gears? Check... Misshifts? Check... But if an army soldier couldn’t kill it I sure as heck don’t have the ability to according to the owner. And I tend to agree with that notion.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

It was an awesome experience! Trust me on this... If an owner offers, you GOT to do it. You can’t ‘Merica much harder than this when it comes to vehicles!

I didn’t drive my friend’s but I’ve been in it, he has a 5 ton too. I’ll have to settle for my 3/4 ton M37, parking would be tough with a deuce.

very cool to driv eone. I had a friend that repaired these. The abuse they could take is incredible.

We took it to cars and coffee this month and I was surprised we could find a parking spot!

I loved it! The downside is really not having room to store one. If I had a ranch I would have owned one of these probably. They cost next to nothing and just about anyone can work on them.

Yeah the deuce would be a lot easier than the 5 ton, but still

I have seen a 5 ton once and mistook it for a Deuce. The 5 ton is decidedly bigger in retrospect. It also has air brakes, so I would not be able to drive one (at least not legally) without getting a license for that type of vehicle. I don’t think I will be getting my Class A endorsement anytime soon!

Yeah the 5 ton stays on my friend’s land, they use it on the ranch for moving big stuff, I don’t think the deuce goes anywhere else either, doubt they have plates. They got a bulldozer so they can push and pull shit too, it’s 200 acres that his dad bought in the 50's, but there are almost no roads so they have to make access where they want to go, but the deuce and the M37 can go pretty much anywhere on their own.

200 acres of play land would be awesome. I can just imagine the dirt bike riding, deuce driving and shooting I could do out there. It would be the perfect life! (Save for the fact you’d probably have to drive an hour to get to civilization... HAHAHA).

Well it’s 2 hours and 20 min from SF but it’s an hour from Santa Rosa which is a big town. They don’t ride but they have tons of toys, MB Jeeps too. An old Sea Bee is the caretaker and he lives in a small cabin, maintains vehicles and watches the land, no idea if he is paid or they just let him live there. He probably has a pension being retired.
