Had the front license plate holes filled in and the bumper resprayed. Also decided to color match the grill and side markers. Looks much better IMO.

While at the shop, decided to do both motor mounts, transmission mount, new ABC pump, ABC fluid, and cyl-6-12 coilpack that it needed. FCPEuro FTW, free ABC fluid, oil, and mounts that this apparently eats every ten thousand miles.

Now just waiting on my appointment with the AMG tech at the dealership so he can calibrate/level my ABC and troubleshoot why my Keyless GO doesn’t work. I suspect that the key I got with the car is simply not a Keyless GO key.

I know there is a Mercedes Tech lurking around here, any input?

Very nice CL65 AMG! You should get an exhaust from Renntech. They sound so good.

Thank you! I’ve been trying to buy a set of downpipes but the seller won’t respond. The rest of the exhaust will likely stay stock, only interested in downpipes + ECU + TCU tunes at this point, it sounds nice already, I can’t justify the price of exhausts for this car.

We have no Mercedes techs around here. Don’t know where you got that idea

You’re probably right about the key. Your car might even be old enough to use a key card. The tech should be able to figure it out pretty quickly. Did your engine mounts require engine removal? Some of them do, depending on production date. I assume you’re is later and doesn’t, which would also mean no key card.

There you are!

My car, being an ‘06, I believe no longer has a key card. I have a chrome key, which I believe became standard for 2006. I suppose we’ll see next Saturday. Being that neither door handle nor the shifter respond as they should, but the dash lights up stating “no key detected” I am inclined to believe that the key is either not programmed as one of the two allowed Keyless GO keys in the ECU, or the key itself is simply non Keyless GO.

It’s just mildly frustrating to have this feature not work, but all should be mended soon!

As far as the mounts, the subframe was dropped down, but the engine did not need removal. They charged me something like 2 hours labor for the mounts.

That is a very interesting car... Like Jay Leno said everyone should drive a V12 at least once a day!

Ultimate C215, you’re a braver man than I.

Here’s a project for you - install Distronic :)

Definitely no card. There are numbers on the side of the business end of your key remote. Take a picture of them and post on here. I might be able to tell you from that. If you only have one key, best to just get another regardless, and make sure to specify keyless go when ordering.

That’s super cheap for mounts on that car!

I always liked these cars a lot. I was looking at getting one before picking up my current GTO. I was seriously considering picking up a steel blue one, but I saw the price for a brake and tranny job. Then I decided the GTO would be cheaper in the long run. I got to drive my buddies CL65 AMG with the stage 3 Renntech package. That is what has made me want one since then. Here’s some picture of it that Webb took of it.

I’ve never seen an AMG look like a $2000 Impala with $5000 wheels before.

Hey, Happy Holidays!

I know some time has passed, but I have a photo of the numbers on the key. Any insight as to whether this is a Keyless GO key?

Thanks in advance

Happy holidays to you too!

Wrong numbers though. Not the ones on the inside. They’ll be on the outside of the part that actually goes into the ignition.

No “K” at the beginning? Then it’s not a keyless go key.
