Starting tomorrow , Regal Cinemas across the country say they will offer Cheetos-flavored popcorn and actual Cheetos.
The Cheetos popcorn will be available in 32 oz. cups at participating theaters nationwide.

This news reminded me I’ve been trying to find an acceptable vegan substitute for Cheetos. So far this is the best option I’ve located.

Yes, there’s a whole industry of plant-based approximations of foods originally made from animal products. Personally I don’t like make these plant-based approximations the main things I eat, but sometimes I just want some Cheetos, dangit.

I’m pretty shocked that the stuff in cheetos is actually dairy based.
Aren’t veggie straws vegan? Those are way better than cheetos imo.

Veggie straws do a halfway decent approximation of the texture but it’s not the same. The cheese flavor of Cheetos is almost secondary for me, the texture of the crunchy Cheetos is the thing I crave. The MSG in them is probably also something to do with it.

eBay has THESE . Might have to make some of my yummy popcorn and dash them with some of this stuff.
