Super overplayed, but this song was our anthem the year my wife found out she had a massive tumor growing behind her eyeball. Was a very tough and scary few months (and thankfully she’s fine - it wasn’t cancer and her surgery went great), but we just chose to be happy through it all.

Wow....my uncle also had a benign eyeball tumor. The doctors can really scare you with all the talk of blindness and death. And he’s fine — a couple surgeries, but fully recovered. Scary.

Glad to hear he’s good. My wife’s doctor was great. She didn’t sugarcoat anything, but basically said, “I’m a great doctor and there’s a very high probability of success”. Her tumor was as big as her eyeball, and had begun pressing on her optical nerve (her vision was getting worse in that eye, and thankfully her optometrist saw something and sent her for more tests). We didn’t realize how big it actually was until we saw the CT scan - that was a scary day with lots of tears. The surgery was quick, but they did have to cut a notch out of her skull to get it out - thankfully the tumor wasn’t wrapped around her optical nerve. Only sign of the surgery is a thin, faint line of a scar in the corner of her eye; she has a small plate and a couple screws under her eyebrow.
