Kinja'd!!!

Just couldn’t deal with going to work today. So i took a personal day and instead made a lumber run, and turned it into these:

Kinja'd!!!

Both are 2' x 4'. I’ll be adding final details and making a third bench once i get more screws (went through most of 2lbs of 3" screws). The left bench is setup so the bed of the miter saw is flush with the benchtop. The bumpout at the front is so the saw arm can slide fully back while making a cut. I’ll be adding nutserts to the bench so i can use wing-screws to secure the saw while in use. It’ll allow me to slide the whole saw back when not in use so it isn’t sticking out into the path.

Kinja'd!!!

Made no miscuts, and only two wasted cuts due to re-thinking the lower shelf design, which i ended up being able to cut down and re-use elsewhere. I’m kinda proud of that give my ADD.

I need to build one of those for my home miter saw.

You’re more productive on your day off than I am at work. Well done.

The agreement I made with myself was that I could only take the day off if I was going to get stuff done.

I also removed a bunch of dirt and debris from the basement, cut down and bundled some rotted wood to go out to the curb. Scrapped some old wire and rusty steel that was hanging around, and cleaned up the garage some.

I also did a twitch stream from my garage where I did an oil change welded an exhaust leak, and completely failed to replace an exhaust gasket due to getting the wrong one.

I’m freaking exhausted.

I like the recess for the chop saw. Makes it easy to keep lumber flat during cuts.

That basement wall looks ancient. Old house?

Nice job on the benches!

I’m tired just reading that.

Thanks. Yeah yhe whole bench becomes a lumber support.

The lower fieldstone foundation dates from mid 11800s or earlier, and the upper brick portion from around 1875-1895.
