Kinja'd!!!

Nobody believes it’s real. Google maps says my address is legit. UPS does not believe it is and won’t ship to it. Amazon took a long time to come around and with regards to websites and ordering things, Shoes.com just lost my business for its website couldn’t get its act together and kept forcibly editing addresses. USPS know it’s legit. I wonder who the vending websites use to verify addresses. It certainly isn’t google maps or the postal service.

What a great time before Christmas. Cant get shit delivered. I’m within the freakin’ city limits!

Isn’t that just normal Lowe’s behavior?

Most people I know have packages delivered to their office. Not always an option or feasible, but so many newly built homes are on new streets that don’t even exist yet according to the county, zillow, Google maps, etc.

I also send packages to my insurance agent’s office, or my parents.

So like the air refueling planes the air force uses but with packages!

Just send it to the crash pad; I’m sure no one will steal it.

Civic address- contact city hall.

Mailing Address - contact USPS.

Talk to the agency with the jurisdiction to change the data.

This is what I do all day long..

About 20 years ago my town was rezoned and as result on many sites it does not exist. I’m stuck in this weird salient, and sometimes I can get it to ship to my PO box, but on some sites they refuse to do that.

As one of the people responsible for actually delivering things, this sucks for us too. Yesterday I had a package for a recently built house on a new street. The company routing system not only didn’t recognize the address, but it didn’t recognize the entire street name, so it assumed it was a typo and routed it to the street with the nearest spelling. I ended up following the system’s directions, getting to that other street, looking at the label on the package and realizing I was at the wrong address. The street was so new that Google maps was no help, Google had never heard of it either. Spent the next ten minutes on the phone, first to my boss, then to the depot chief trying to figure out where the damn street was. When we finally figured it out we realized it was on the other end of the town in a different driver’s work area and too far away for it to make any sense for me to deliver the package. It sucked.

It truly matters much more just who the employer is. It’s wonderful if the company is stand-up and cares about the workers first.
