That would involve them telling the customer they are...misguided.

That can not be allowed to happen in a customer driven society where the customer is always right.

Remember the customer ‘knows’ that the service adviser is not a technician or an expert...

This way, the service adviser gets to innocently impart the knowledge of a faceless technician to the customer...without compromising customer service standards.
