I was looking for my 10 mil ratcheting wrench today when I remembered
these guys were way in the back of the wrench drawer. I had assumed they
were from my father’s beloved ‘79 300D, but it looks like it’s probably
a combination of several kits due to size overlap and different
manufacturers. This is a real mystery because as far as I know, dad’s
oil burner was the only Benz in the family. Maybe they’re breeding in
there... I do particularly like the one that says it was made in West
Germany. A reminder of history.

These definitely look period correct for a W123.
My W111 fintail still has much of its toolkit, it’s in a brown/red cloth wrap, I suspect similar was used in later cars.

Interesting... I’ve got a ‘77 BMW motorcycle and the original tool-kit wrenches are identical to those (minus the MB name..)

Cool. I have the original tool kit for my ‘73 Honda Trail 90. The tools are definitely not ANYTHING like those, LOL.

I have in my possession a Stanley hammer from the 30's or 40's. It came from my great grandfather. If you look closely at the reverse side you can make out that it belonged to Bell System.
The handle isn’t original, it broke and my Dad made a new one sometime in the 90's.

That is super cool! I have a few of my grandfathers tools. He worked for the Virginia Electric and Power Company. It’s just a few pairs of pliers and such, but I love them enough to not use them. He had an AMAZING shop. I wish I had been old enough to take in all his tools when he passed.
