For all you oppos in Kommiefornia, how are you dealing with the new gun laws regarding the bullet button on “assault weapons”? Are you making your rifles featureless, fixed mag or registering them?

The button allows you to drop the magazine quickly in order to reload. The ban would require a modification to the gun that would force the shooters to use a tool to release the magazine instead of the button it came with.

I got that wrong. The button is the slower, NEW release mechanism that requires the tool.

I always called this a magazine release. A “bullet button” sounded like a button that required to be pressed to chamber a new round, making you “assault weapon” single action.

Eh, I think the “old” way is the button. A bullet was considered a “tool” that could be used to press the button and drop the mag. This is no longer OK in CA.
Now it’s featureless rifles, speed loaders, or flip top ARs.

As a Canadian with his PAL (possession and acquisition license for “unrestricted” firearms) I always look at your “gun laws” and laugh. We have mag limitations, barrel limits and other restrictions like crazy
*I don’t own/have never owned a firearm, had to get the PAL for work so I may not be the best expert

We can get pepper spray but it’s weak pepper spray, if you use it incorrectly you can be charged with assault.
The police use pepper spray which is quite a bit stronger than the pepper spray U.S. police use.

The button requires use of a bullet to push it. That is, a tool. You cannot push it with your hand alone.
I’m glad I don’t live there anymore, but I still haven’t gone back to where I lived to pick up my AR. I don’t like flying with guns and haven’t driven out there since moving here.
