Just had an unplanned off-road excursion. Sun came out and blinded me. Knew the area and pulled into what I thought was the right turn lane for my next turn. Spoiler alert: it was a parking cutout. Hit a curb at about 40 MPH. I am an idiot. Don’t be me, Oppo!

Update: Spares flat too. MONDAYS!

I hope so. I’m hoping it just popped the bead from the impact. But it could be bent. I guess step one is get it inflated and see if it holds air. Then get an alignment. I need to crawl under still and see if anything is obviously damaged.

Stuff happends yo, just glad there’s no person damage involved! I got blinded by mud throwup from the car ahead and turned in too early on the track once, hello guardrail!

I hit a pothole last week. Bent the rim and wrecked a run flat tire.... it’s gonna be expensive.

On the bright side, you are not the only idiot here. I think by definition we are all on oppo because we are idiots and are looking for idiots like ourselves

Thanks. What I did was supremely dumb tho. It’s a tough intersection. I mnemtioned where it happened to someone and they said they’ve hit that curb twice themselves... but nothing like this.

I remember one time in college I helped a friend with a flat tire. Took out the scissor jack, lifted the car, switched to the donut, lowered the car only to realize the donut was flat. So we jacked the car up again, took off the donut, and threw both tires into the trunk of another friend’s Honda Civic and set off.

Stopped at a gas station to get air, and then we all decided to swing by a grocery store to get some stuff before heading home. Shopping done, hop in the car to head home - car won’t start. Had to call a 3rd friend to come and rescue us so we could get home, put the tire back on the first car, and use it to go get a tow for the 2nd car.
