Kinja'd!!!

I bet I would love the hell out of driving it, but there’s nothing about it that puts it on a list of dream cars. Yeah, the numbers are bigger than last year’s numbers, but next year the numbers will be bigger. It just all seems so pointless. At what point will these absurd horsepower wars end?

Are you really looking forward to the range wars?

New Tesla MK4: Have toxic uranium and 400,000 miles of range!

I mean, range wars would be better in every way. I drive a hundred kilometres a day and I’m usually doing 50 km/h for most of it. 0-100 means very little to me as long as I’m not dangerously slow, but if I could go 2000 kilometres on a tank? Sign me up.

electric steering so it’s got zero feel and the car just handles somewhat nicely and is quick... but it’s still a comfy cruiser and a far cry from the E39 and its predecessors

I mean, the BMW 520d touring has about 1300km of range, I wouldn’t doubt something crazy like 1500km if you keep it steady at 50km/h... or just fabricate a bigger tank!

Yet here we go again

You’ve found yourself reserve once again

And no matter what you do

You feel as if you need to pull over and fill up

Steady as it goes!

Oh, it’s all stop and go for me. But yeah, even 1500 kilometres on a tank would be deluxe.

But it has bigger numbers , so it’s better .

Yeah, I think I’ll take an E90 M3 instead.

The answer is easy, just start looking at cars with decreasing horsepower! :P

I mean, as long as I can hit 100 kilometres in under ten seconds, I’ll be happy.

give me an E38; at least that looked great and wasn’t a complete whale on wheels like most new BMWs

My commute is 30km round way (yay! city life!) but almost an hour an a half long both ways... so I end up averaging like 20km/h in traffic. My jeep Grand Cherokee, what with its big 5.7l V8 feeling asthmatic in this thin, almost 3km high air, is unwilling to pull anything lower than 20l/100km (TWELVE MPG) , and that’s in a good day! I end up emptying its 90L tank quite quickly....

Yikes, that’s pretty abysmal. In my work Sonic, I think I’m pulling 10 litres per hundred kilometres with the amount of stopping, starting, and idling I do. Which is not great for a tiny engine.

Yeah, 10l/100km isn’t anything to celebrate with a Sonic!

Don’t you love the fact that we can understand eachother because we use normal units and not stupid imperial units?

I’ve yet to drive an E38, but a friend of mine had a 740i for a daily for a while, and man could that thing handle. I badly want one

Agreed.

I want these wars to go to comical heights, so that regular high horsepower cars are cheaper (hopefully)

Bring on the 1300 hp M5 with a Zonda drive train.

Thats when the 535 will have 535 hp :)

Errr....well, now...with the ones I posted, the Seicento Sporting and the Lapin SS probably could, maybe...the rest? Ummm...they could do 0-a speed in under 10 seconds? :P

I get what you’re saying but lightness and feel are hard qualities to sell compared to horsepower. I’ve always thought it would be cool if Mazda developed one or two RWD sedans/4 seat coupes. They could probably have a car under 3,000 pounds and with the 2.5l engine, speed would be goood but not silly. An MX-7 so to speak.

...I wonder if this is how people on the late 60s felt about muscle cars, and now look at how people glorify the era...
