Kinja'd!!!

The estimated $25k is crack pipe. Even one that is low miles.

Kinja'd!!!

This isn’t even a first 1000 with the plaque and certificate.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

The only thing good about the 2006 is that the Ecotec had thicker walls that year so it’s a good candidate for supercharging kits. Otherwise the later years are way better and fixed up a LOT of production bugs. Sometimes I do wonder why didn’t I wait to get a newer one.

But then I appreciate them propping up the value of mine, lol.

These are great looking cars. How does your car drive? I have heard they are more cruiser than sports car but I would imagine the Solstice is still pretty fun.

Actually I feel more confident throwing her around corners than my F30, the heavier hydraulic steering does make a difference. The truck transmission also finnicky at times but the mechanical feel of the shifts is awesome vs the rubbery F30 shifts.

You would be right, GM did tune the gear ratios to feel more like a cruiser rather than sports. If only one day I have the money to do an LS swap.

Yeah i don’t think these cars have collector status or cult following to fetch that kind of money, at least not yet. maybe in 10 years tho.

Plus I have this idea in my head that if I’m going to have a car it needs to be the best version of that car. Like if your going to have a Civic get and Si, if your going to get a Mustang it should at least be a GT, if you’re going to have an Impreza it should be an STI, if you have a Solstice, or Sky it should be a GXP, or Redline

I honestly think the best version of this car is a Miata with an Ecotec swap.

ecotecmiata.ca makes a kit and they look like they were meant to be together.

Still looks like a jelly bean with a chromed beaver smile on the front. The Sky was easily the more-preferable of the two.

The Solstice has been my sort of dream car since I was 17. But theres no way in hell I would pay that much for one. Im not paying anything over 10 grand.

They are trading hands around that mark, maybe a more abused copy would go for lower.

Ive seen base models hovering around $7500. GXP models in some places will try and fetch a little over 11k, but for the most part you can find them under 10k, I think Sky’s are even cheaper.

That would be a very cool swap!

Actually Skys are rarer and command a premium, at least up here. Also I’m not even aware if base Skys are available here, at least I’ve never seen one.

Yea Sky’s I’ve seen are never really under 8 grand. I do know there is a rather low mileage example in Escondido (outside San Diego) thats has 29 thousand on it and the dealer is asking 14 grand.
