There are now 2 C5 Z06’s within 2 miles of my house, for a grand total of 3 C5’s for sale within that distance(one is a beige C5 convertible.) Part of a couple year plan is to buy one at some point, but not at this point. Stop this temptation, neighborhood.

A week after I couldn’t get approved to buy an M3, I was still at an outside bar in Houston. In the hour or so I was there four E9X M3s drove by, it was like they were taunting me.

Are either of the Z06's worth buying and priced well?
There is a non-zero chance that I would buy one, I’ve been kicking the idea around.
But the chance is still pretty close to zero.

The one across the road has 80k miles and mostly stock(full exhaust) for $19k(I think). It’s a 50th Anniversary car. The one further away is unknown.

They drive pretty poorly, but lordy yes. With some suspension work, very great car. I really want an FRC myself sometime, maybe just for a short while...Im a corvette fanboy, and I am not sorry.

Sadly, it just isn’t in the cards right now. If I sold the FiST, I could probably swing it, but... I like having a daily driveable fun car that wear parts are dirt cheap on. Tires for the Vette as a daily are a deal breaker.

Funny, I found this in the bookface market tonight. Your neighbor’s pricing may be closer to correct than I thought.
And yes, this looks pretty great. I have no idea what class it would be in for autocross with the modifications, but I almost don’t care. Regardless, it’s more than my imaginary budget would permit.

I know, that is what has me thinking about it. Although the last time I looked locally (a few weeks ago), the best reasonable example of a C5 was $12,000. The ones under $10k weren’t appealing due to various concerns that I can’t recall.
