Kinja'd!!!

I’m not driving in this. They said it would be less than an inch and it wouldn’t stick to the roads. I know I could handle it, but nobody else here has a clue how to drive in snow. Guess I’ll need to wait until tomorrow to go...

Pretty much looks like my neighborhood. I literally can’t remember the last time we had 24+ hours of snow without significant melting. A lot of it re-froze last night, so today could be worse until the sun starts beating down.

I have a 3’ igloo on my back porch. Full of leaves and random toys. But an igloo!

Also: tell your neighbors to get their cars off your 100’ skidpad.

That’s my favorite thing to do with the first snow.... snonuts. Find a local parking lot and go nuts.

Already did a couple by my apartment! I’m just here to dog sit for my parents for the weekend.

drive with summer tires; brake abruptly, swerve a lot, accelerate quickly, if you drive on ice SLAM the brakes

Precisely. To be fair though, nobody has any reason to own winter tires or even all seasons around here, so can’t fault them for that. But they have no reason to go 5 over the limit and generally act like this is just rain. And the ones who ARE careful tend to overreact; last night I was caught behind someone going 20 in a 50.

i hate those, even in rain. “oh, it’s drizzling? gotta drive 30 in a 45 zone.”

We were told we’d get maybe 1-3 inches here in south Mississippi and that would be pushing it. I think we ended up with around 7, the most this area has ever seen IIRC. Nobody was prepared.
