Commenters are saying that he hid this because he didn’t really want to be recognized. Really. An old white MR2 in rural Pennsylvania would be something that would cause a stir? I mean he’s internet famous (niche), not famous-famous. Doesn’t seem to check out. Especially when you remember he owns a bright red falcon with red dog dish wheels.
In addition, I’ll guess in the other direction: adding 18 months to his (possible) 6 months of ownership makes it seem less like a flip.

As a PA resident, that MR2 would absolutely turn my head. I’ve seen maybe 2 in the year I’ve been back, and they aren’t nearly as nice. I’m pretty sure that in the carfax report it shows that he bought it in 2016.
The MR2 was always his dream car, and he talked about it in videos years ago. I completely believe that he didn’t want to show it off until he had it for a while and had fixed the minor issues that he could. He’s also been driving a Subaru Forester for a while, but he doesn’t talk about it in the videos.
As an aside, I met him last month and had a few beers. He’s a pretty chill guy.
