Kinja'd!!!

Still the dream for me: Rambler, 3 beds, 2 baths, 3 car garage, 3-wide driveway.

Moving onward, here’s a kitchen:

Kinja'd!!!

And of course, did you think we’d go this long with a chandelier post? One thing is for sure, folks: this is certainly, definitely, absolutely, a thing that holds light bulbs.

Chandelier doesn’t hold enough light bulbs. 6/10 needs to look like an LED light cluster when viewed from above.

I’m a simple man. I just want a small two bed two bath ranch (hell, I’d settle for 1.5 bath)

...and an eight car garage with at least one ten foot overhead door.

Closer to Spaceball?

Not really. This is at the very north end of B-E Highway.

The double door looks too narrow. But I could get 4 or 5 bikes in the single door area. No doubt typical PNW construction quality made of cardboard and compressed oatmeal, but the garage matters most.

You just know eventually there’s going to be a Civrolla and CRAV4 in the driveway, and $200 worth of yard sale rejects in the garage.

That’s gotta be a record. I’ve never seen a 1:1 ratio of bedrooms to garage spaces. I’d imagine it’s aimed at a bunch of adult roommates?

Or at me, if there were any justice or rationale to construction techniques. At best, your primary asset protects your secondary. At worst, it’s like 10 walk-in closets.

Pretty much all of their buyers are older people (like... 50s, not elderly) whose kids are all moved out, or a family with one — and often only one — child.

I could see that...2 cars and a workshop. I think the reason it susprises me is that new construction usually has really small garages because the heated/cooled footage is much more valuable the homes’ appraisals, especially on a small lot. That house could have been a 4/2.5 if not for the extra bay.

I like it.

I was thinking of you during thanksgiving at my grandparent’s house. They have the ugliest chandelier I think I’ve ever seen. I’ll post a pic when i can.

“No doubt typical PNW construction quality made of cardboard and compressed oatmeal”

I can personally assure you that PNW does not have the market cornered on poor quality construction.

Are you a countertop measurer/estimator? The mentioning of a 6’ level the other day really stuck out to me, and this house has no countertops yet.

Anyways, I’m right there with you on the love of a house like this. I may have to build one for myself one of these days.

No doubt. A friend of mine lived in suburban Atlanta, and I visited him a few times (before he couldn’t take any more, and moved back). I think his house was made of particle board held together with staples and paste. At least it was cheap.

I’m not, and most estimators come out with some crazy box/laser contraption that maps out the perimeter of a slab top. You also seem to be dismissing how often I post finished homes.

That would be perfect for me! I wish that would catch on in GA. I’d have to get a 4-5k sq-ft house to get a 3 car garage around here.

95% of the houses we look at are 3/2.5 ramblers with 3 car garages. My dumb ass is holding out for a basement
