$1.10 off per gallon! (Although with the discount I’m only just paying the same price as everyone else over on the mainland)

I’m still amazed that BMW managed to cram such a huge gas tank into this car.

My LS 400 has a bigger gas tank than my dad’s 2014 Tundra(21 gallons vs 20 ).

I should note that this is for premium. I’d have paid like $1.70/gal if I went for regular.

I’ve got a whole bunch of those fuel points for Ralph’s here in California. I need to figure out how to use those. It says I can save like $1.00 per gallon also which is pretty cool. I will still be in the $2.20 range though also like you because California. But that would be nice. Too bad my Miata is the car that needs gas and it will only take like 10 or 11 gallons. I gotta show up there with a fuel truck and buy a few thousand gallons.

In Pennsylvania we are at $2.89 for 87 octane, so you did well compared to us as well.

That better be going into a Bentley if you’re driving on the Vineyard

I’m actually kinda sore about having to buy premium. My car recommends 91, but the stations here only offer 87, 89, or 93. I can either buy 89 and live with the knowledge that my car’s not making full power or pay more than I need to for the 93.

Or will it half with 89 and the other half with 93, so you end up with 91.

Where is gas $1.10 in the US? I pay $2.50 for 89 in Arizona which has fairly cheap gas.

The stations here are all full-serve. I’m not about to make that request and have the attendant think I’m a crazy person.

No, I had a discount of $1.10/gallon. Full price would have been $3.34.

You’re not paying more than you need to. 91 is premium in California, 93 will make your car run better.

That’s not how that works... modern cars won’t gain anything by putting in higher fuel octanes than what they were designed and tuned to run.

Does your car recommend 91, or 91  or higher? I’d assume it was designed to work on California’s gas but still be optimized for 93, which is what most of the country uses.

True, but some vehicles do give you options on fuel octane. My F150 2.7 recommends regular, however the manual it does state for heavy duty use/trailer towing to use premium for improved performance. It has mapping optimized for both regular and premium. I’ve seen the same on several other makes as well.

Just 91.
