Seems legit.
Years ago an incident involving a vanload of street salesmen with baseball bats, the Cross Bronx Expressway, and my cars side-view mirror occurred.
I won’t bore you with the details, but my car required a new windshield and new glass for the side mirror.
Windshield was no problem, but the side mirror turned out to be a major headache.
The mirror housing itself was fine, but the glass was shattered. I ordered replacement glass from Mazda and when it arrived it was just the glass pane without the plastic backing required to attach it to the mirror housing. Parts dept told me I had to re-use the old backing. If I wanted glass with the backing included I would have to buy the entire assembly at many hundreds of dollars.
So I went home and promptly shattered the new glass trying to press it into the backing.
Ordered another, shattered it as well.
I may or may not have shattered a third too.. who can remember, it was the 90's.
I did eventually source replacement glass with the backing from a junkyard... Or a buy here pay here lot in the middle of the night...
