Oh cool, a heavy dump bed with lots of hydraulics weighing down that (Supercharged) 350, and the original tow truck transmission which I’m sure was geared for racing from one desperate stranded motorist to the next - while fitting in a 30 minute coffee break in between.

You’d want the tow truck gearing in a truck that big and heavy and laden down with hydraulic systems.
Even with a supercharged 350, you’re not going to go fast in it, but it won’t feel like the dog it once was.

That’s the point/ my problem with it. I’m glad someone had the skill to build it, but why did they do it?
“Imma take my custom painted truck down to the quarry and get a load of half inch to fix those washboards in the driveway.” I doubt the guy who laid down the ‘gothic flair’ would be happy if the dump bed actually saw real use.

Ya know, why not haul gravel or rocks in it? It should have the suspension and gearing to haul that load, and it can dump the bed to get it all out pretty easily. If you’d do it in a pickup, why not in this custom heavy duty dumping version of a pickup?
You could worry about scratching the “custom paint”, but it’s not that wild of a paint job (so it could easily be patched up), and it is a truck after all.
I just wouldn’t pay anywhere near a new pickup price for it.

Why a Supercharged 350, and not a 454, or Duramax. I feel like that SBC, isn’t enough for that heavy of a truck even with a Supercharger.
