Kinja'd!!!

I was followed on the highway by a lifted truck very similar to the one in the picture on the highway a couple of nights ago. I was blinded by the aftermarket projector beam headlights due to their elevation and increased intensity, of course, but was amazed when the vehicle finally passed me and I saw the wheel arch spotlights.

Really highlighting the modifications because of excitement about them, I guess. I realize I should not have been so amazed.

So your wheels can see where they’re going when you offroad...duh

The lights are so you can clearly see that despite all the modifications, they’ve gained about 0" of ground clearance.

So everyone can see their Forces and powdercoated suspension, duh. It’s a huge trend in the diesel scene.

We went to a hockey game the other night and parked next to a similarly equipped Dodge...err, I mean RAM. They were cool (or forgetful) enough to leave their exterior/undercarriage lighting for the duration of the game. They were on when we parked, and still on when we returned about 3 hours later.

If it ever became necessary for me to adopt the bro-lifestyle in full...

I’d get aftermarket portal axles . Go big or go home. I despise seeing a really tall truck that should have tons of ground clearance...

And then you see it head on, and:

That fat differential on the axle ain’t gonna have clearance over anything. Portal axles would remedy this.

I know that a transverse breakover angle isn’t as important as the longitudinal one that’s commonly discussed, but I still want portal axles.

Like many automotive trends we’ve grown to dislike, this has some root in a functional modification- its just been made useless and blown out of proportion.

Rock lights were intended to iluminate adverse terrain when off-roading at night. Only on a brodozer, they’re 100x brighter than needed, some goofy useless color that kills your night vision and 100% more useless.

I’ve seen this before, it’s even better when it shows off their 6 inch lift blocks.

The problem is a combination of two things - First, not re-aiming the headlights when lifting the truck. Second, putting HID or LED replacement bulbs into housings that aren’t designed for them, causing the light they project to scatter all over the goddam place.

very interesting - just today on the way home from work I saw a black C7 Vette and it looked like all the brake rotors were glowing bright red - but it must have been some sort of red wheel lighting package. Anybody else ever seen something like that? It was actually kinda cool.
