Is it just me or is it the greater the disparity of the cost of someone’s wheel and tire package over the cost of the car they are on, the more likely they are driving with a spare tire on the car?

I very rarely see spares mounted on cars with otherwise flashy/aftermarket wheels. At least compared to how many poor, neglected 10-20 year old beaters that seem to perpetually be leaning on a donut.

$250 of car, $800 of rubber. It spent two days on the (full-size) spare before these went on. The tires that were on it before? Well suffice it to say, $250 car, and the spare was in the best shape of the five.
