My wife keeps saying she wants enough snow to close her work. I have to keep reminding her that means I have to drive a plow truck.

its a 30 mile drive, up hills, and lots of runoffs into ravines down some nasty little winding roads.
the LAST time that it iced over real good, and i drove in, i ended up on the other side of a rancher’s fence. wadded up a fender and a door on old reliable.
and i dont do icy weather so well.

If there’s ice it’s a good call. Even snow may be dangerous. Remember that we have no snow tires and no snow removal equipment, and people aren’t used to driving in the snow. It snowed when I lived in Austin, probably about a quarter inch, and I saw six different accidents on highway 71 while driving to my doctor, a distance of less than a mile (the doctor’s office was closed).

its one thing to go and slide around in the snow, when its sunny out with your buddies. and its another to go sliding down a ravine at 430am all by yourself......

23 inches that storm. That’s the Kennedy Expressway in the heart of Chicago on a weekday. 10 lanes wide there.
And the tow truck is stuck as well as the car. Picture is a few years old.

thats some real nice coverage there too. this morning, when i finally got up and crawled out of my warm bed and went to look around, there was about 3 inches on everything. all the hills looked like fields of cotten when they are ready to be harvested........
