mrw I try to put on my seatbelt in my ‘49 but I didn’t angle them correctly and now they get stuck unless I move very slowly.

I bought three sets of lap belts for the M37, no way I’m driving anything without lap belts at least. I can’t do any more than that since there is nothing to attach them to above the seat.

I bought a pair of lap belts, but I have not gotten around to installing them. Also, there was the part where they were backordered and then bumped to the back of the line and then took nearly three months after I ordered them to arrive - kind of took any sense of urgency out of it.

If anything, the door is a lid - the car is a jar

Mr. Land Rover does have seat belts, but they’re not the retractable kind. Mr. Galaxie has not had his seat belts installed yet.

I enjoy that my Miata does not have a working seat belt light and that it also doesnt ding at me. I have both a harness and a seat belt installed so it would be annoying as hell to have to connect the seat belt when using the harness.

Then in the STi that buzzer is the most annoying crap in the world. It starts binging almost immediately, even before starting the car. Just turning it to ACC will start the seat belt beeping. Shit, I cant drive anywhere with the car off, why would I put on my seatbelt in my garage before moving??

Are they OE seatbelts, out of curiosity? I wouldn’t think installation would be too bad, considering they were optional on the car originally.

Wondering because I can see myself in the same boat in a few years, depending on whether I find something pre-1965 or not.

When you attempt to grab a seatbelt and it instantly locks itself in place because you somehow managed to pull it hard enough that it assumes a collision happened.

When you attempt to lean forward with said seatbelt more than a few degrees and it goes NO HUMAN, I MUST SAVE YOU FROM SOME IMMINENT DANGER and forces you to unbuckle to release yourself from its overprotective clutches.

They’re OE style, and there are anchors in the floor. They’re ivory colored, which is the best color match I could get to a car with a greenish gold and silver everywhere. They’re RetroBelts, but considering that they’re made by the same guys as those RetroSound units (which I consider kind of a ripoff) and I had the whole backorder boondoggle, I don’t know that I’d recommend them specifically.

Yeah, that’s annoying, to put it mildly. Over-sensitive spring sprags are the worst.

Or brand new ones that haven’t been broken in at all.

My stepfather bought an ‘06 Five Hundred that was literally just used to travel back and forth to and from Florida. It had never seen a New England winter or any passengers in the back seat.

It was fun for the first month or two when you tried to do anything and got stopped right in the middle of doing something.
