22 years this truck has managed to survive without any significant damage to it’s paint. Barely a rock chip. I’ve had it what? 3 maybe 4 weeks, and you do this? Why????

I’d be lying if I said I wouldn’t have liked to catch you in the act. However, I’m not going to wish you a slow painful death.

No, I REALLY DO hope whatever series of events (or lack there of) in your life, that have led you to want to maliciously damage someone elses property, changes for the better.

I’ve been meaning to disable the parked recording of my dashcam since it’s killing my stop/start, but I think you just convinced me not to.

Don’t do it! Though it could be hard to do much with the footage, unless you can capture their license plate.

Any possibility that it was just something in a bag and someone accidentally scrapped it or does it look deliberate?

I would like to think it was an accident, but there was no car parked besides me when I went in, nor when I came out. And I always park far away. Not so far away that it’s obvious, but far enough that the place could of been busier when I arrived.

But you may be onto something, most key marks that I’ve seen on other vehicles aren’t that straight. They tend to be wavy.

I’d find a talented detail guy and get it touched up. With the proper methods it should be almost invisible.

It’d be a bummer to open up OEM finish for a refinish.

This scratch is way worse than what yours looks like and the repair looks great.

Every single time I park somewhere that is not at the end of the lot or has a curb on one side against my better judgement I get a door ding or nasty scratch. Just happened again to me Saturday.

That scratch might have come from a woman’s purse. I’ve seen it happen before, and they’re totally oblivious to the carnage they’re leaving behind.

Regardless of whether or not it was intentional, it sucks. It would at least make me feel better to know someone didn’t do it on purpose. Is it to the metal or will it actually buff out?

I was able to just compound half of it out, unfortunately the other half is down to the metal.

The truck is ruined. Tell me where, and I will come and haul it away for you.

Agreed, I’m picturing the usual suspects: the fat lady with a giant purse that has 75 belt buckles on it that will scratch a diamond.
