I’ll go first. I really wish my sun visor could extend. It could scope along its arm, or have a little pull-out tab, I don’t care. But it doesn’t, and because I’m an large, I drive with my seat all the way back and sun   pours though the gap that you can see above. It basically makes flipping the visor over like that pointless. If I could just extend it I would be ecstatic.

The door and center armrests in my car are too low to both have my elbows on them and my hands firmly on the wheel. I can barely grab it with my fingertips if I use the armrests. It gets tiring holding my arms up on long drives, and I can’t rest my left arm on the windowsill for too long this time of year because it gets cold.

I’d either raise the armrests an inch or two or make the windowsill heated.

My 2001 Suburban had an extending visor. AND a second little visor that stayed behind, or could be deployed in addition to the other one, on the opposite side. Like, 2.5 visors, really. Because around where I live, roads have these pesky curves. I find myself flipping the visor side-to-front pretty often when I really want it most.... I miss that feature.

On my daily I’d change that it actually throws some god damn heat (I don’t know what it is but my truck just doesn’t throw much heat)

On my heavy hauler...a 50% improvement in fuel economy would be nice. I’d be happy to get 15 mpg with it (I’m actually hoping a proper tune for the exhaust on it will get close to that, the stock computer is not happy with a couple missing O2 sensors)

On my fun vehicle I guess fuel injection would be pretty awesome (not sure if that qualifies as “small”)

My parking brake lever is on the wrong side, and it drives me crazy.

It’s on the passenger side of the center console, which means that I have to kind of lean over as I pull it up. And even then, I still find myself pulling it at an angle towards my body, despite placing my elbow on the armrest. If it was on the driver side of the console, I’d have better leverage to pull it straight up, which is how the mechanism is supposed to work anyway. I can’t help but wonder if the awkward angle is wearing it out prematurely.

1. Variable speed intermittent wipers

2. An actual volume knob, not a stereo controlled 100% by a touch screen

3. Manual transmission. Only reason I don’t have one is that my wife doesn’t know how to drive one (or have any interest in learning), and we will swap cars occasionally.

Actual cupholders instead of the pop-out space saver ones.

Kinja'd!!!

These cupholders are awful. The left cupholder doesn’t hold anything securely except the base of the gigantic cups of soda you can get from a Circle K. The right cupholder tends to only hold cans of soda. It’s a nightmare if you want access to the radio or heater controls in any case, as your beverage of choice gets in the way of the heater controls, and the entire cupholder assembly blocks you from seeing your radio.

The good thing is that the next generation of Legacy did away with these monstrosities and put in actual cupholders that don’t suck.

I used to drive a ‘96 Tacoma. It had those kind of cupholders and they were made out of the cheapest plastic available. Like the fisher-price reject plastic. Mine was slightly broken on one side so I couldn’t put anything heavy there (liquids are heavy so do the math), and I think the front just straight up broke off before I sold it. Seats on the GT86 which remember where they came from when you flip them forward. It’s a real disincentive to chucking stuff in the back seats when you then have to spend 15 minutes trying to sort out your driving position (both slide and recline) yet again. I can’t believe they left this feature out - I haven’t seen a car without it since the 70s. What’s more, on the drivers side you can’t even flip it forward in one go: one control to release the seatback, another to slide the base forwards.
