My wife has been eagerly awaiting practically ill waiting for news at work regarding an open position that would be a huge promotion for her, after her current job was already a huge promotion from where she was just 3 years ago. She left her job in 2014, worked somewhere else, got hired back for her current position, and now she’s Scandinavian Flicked her way into being in charge. Of everything. And I’m extremely proud and happy for her. She’s a good driver, too, but hasn’t tried a Flick just yet. I’m working on that.

I tried to do this a few years ago. I slid into a curb and it cost me a lot of $$.

Ouch! In college I delivered for a restaurant in my 1990 Honda Civic, and I’d pull e-brake turns into a parallel parking spot in front of the restaurant from across the street all the time. But only when there was enough snow that a little overshot would put me up on the sidewalk rather than into the curb, hard.

I’ll pull a little Scandinavian Flick into my road from time to time, but the conditions have to be just right, and it has to be at night so I can see if there’s a car coming. Worst case has been a 180 spin, and one time into a snowbank hard enough that if I hadn’t stayed on the power I probably would have been shoveling it out.

For years I thought it was Scandavian chick. So I finally dated one — that also cost me a lot of $$.

Just look at how little steering angle is used to get that blue subaru around the hairpin. I mean, wow.

I would have given up vital organs for that car in high school. Or college, let’s be honest. Ok I still would...

SpeedChannel used to run the entire WRC back to back on New Years Day - we would record the whole thing (VHS - look it up kids) and watch it multiple times throughout the year..

ElMatador, Burns, McRae, Tommi.. and Possum.. Subi, Mitsu, broken Fords, 206, even a Skoda or two.. back before Citroen and Loeb blew everyone away.

gc8 was my hero - with the squirrel chirp..

Wow, great video. Forgive my ignorance, what’s causing the squirrel chirp?

External wastegate on the turbo makes the chirp. Anti-lag is the poping/ fire/banging sound at the lights before the stage starts..

Both are WRC tricks to get the most out of regulated engines during competition.
