The specs are: 390 swapped in from a ‘71 Galaxie, ratty paint, ratty interior, minimal rust, trunk full of spare parts. Supposedly runs but needs a starter. I have my skeptical face on. Should I trade off my un-finished project? Trade-T Bird pictured.

How’s the rust? I would seriously check the bumpers and the underside. But a big cruiser with a big block is a fun car and that model T-Bird has great lines.

Check it over closely before you do - that being said, wasn’t the Corvair a dream car of yours? I’m surprised you would entertain the trade!

I like the Corvair as a car more than the T-Bird, but this one seems to be in better shape than my ‘Vair. New R+C is out tomorrow! It’s the Mille episode.

Man, t-birds are nice. I just bought a house and have to restore a mini first, which is why i had to turn down a 57 t-bird manual recently. Great shape, Orig paint but needs a respray badly.
What do you want to do with your car? How hard are any parts to find between them? Goals? Which one gets your goals best?

Cigar nose T-Birds are one of my favourites. Still, “just needs a starter/relay/fuel pump/etc” always makes me pause.

If you decide you want to go through with it, maybe make the guy a deal.
Between the two of you, buy a starter and install it. If it fixes the issue, you will take the thundercougarfalconbird and you will pay for the cost of the starter. If it does not resolve the issue, he keeps the car and eats the cost of the starter.
