I’ve seen this image before: it is a World War One listening device used to detect incoming air planes/attacks and troop movements from a ‘safe’ distance. So yeah, early radar.

Yes it’s ridiculous given our current state of radar detection and knowledge but inventive and creative for the day, wouldn’t you say? That and it was great for illustrating my point here.

This article from Alanis King over at Jalopnik this morning prompted me to write this blog:

It’s an excellent post that follows on my earlier post that caught some, a lot, of flack. It’s nice to read that someone at the ‘mother-ship’ seems to feel the same as me and some of us here.
